So, here's what happened.
ACT I
I changed my name from the timid Noreen (my naive private school persona) to the more adventurous, street-smart, and bulletproof Rainne.
Since then, I've always had to explain my name.
"It's pronounced as rain, like RAIN (or ULAN in Tagalog, my native language)," I'd say.
I started my career in television, working as a Research Assistant fresh out of college.
One thing led to another.
The next thing I knew, I was drawn to the shiny and glitzy world of advertising.
So I followed the star and landed a job in an ad agency (Lintas) where I played and worked as a Media Planner with young-blood-thirsty Creatives.
Two years later, I moved to another ad agency (Publicis-Basic) and enjoyed my career even more as a Media Strategist.
Fast forward to a couple of years, I had to immigrate to the United States, where the Land of Opportunity gave me no choice but to survive and thrive in the new culture of American slang, cheeseburgers, Fahrenheits, dollar signs, and all-you-can-eat buffets for eight bucks while starting over.
I worked in healthcare for what seemed like forever.
ACT II
Then, I switched gears from a traditional desk job to the volatile, unpredictable, hostile, unfriendly yet fun and challenging world of copywriting.
Today, I write mostly for tech companies and startups, but I've also written for awesome entrepreneurs in various industries like energy, healthcare, education, food, fashion, and retail.
I've been a part of the writing team for small to global companies like Chevron, UTHealth Houston, and Biotex, Inc., including digital marketing studios and other private marketing ventures in the United States and other countries.
I've also worked side by side with stakeholders, C-level execs, marketing teams, video producers, project managers, subject matter experts, web developers, graphic designers, and admin assistants, using the opportunities to learn from their multi-faceted expertise, diverse opinions, strategic systems, and vast experiences.
I deeply care about helping people convey their ideas through powerful writing backed by passion, a solid vision, and a strategic marketing plan.
"I enjoy connecting with passionate individuals to collaborate because, in the process, we can achieve great things, including changing the world through compelling stories that empower, inspire, and bring people together."

Meanwhile, on the other side of my universe lives a star-struck rom-com lover obsessed with monologues and dialogues of villains, heroes, and heroines. That same person who adores pop culture, music, books, indie films, anime, and road trips decided to burn the midnight oil for five years to produce two 80K-word novels.
If you're the type to fall in love with life over and over and over despite its quirks, mysteries, and uncertainties, my novels are perfect because they were written with you and your dreams in mind.
Here's a sneak peek at my heroine's POV:
"I cringed, wondering if my imaginary rooster had traveled with me to the Big Apple."
Here's what the Writers Digest Judge said about my lead character after reviewing my first novel, which I submitted for the 4th Annual Self-Published e-Book Awards:
"Your character has an enjoyable off-the-wall way of thinking."
Here's what my beta reader told me about her reading experience:
"I skipped the gym and didn't go to the airport with my family to pick up our guest so I could stay home to finish the damn book ... and OMG I loved it."
